Joy, Joy, Joy!!!

October is half over, but there is still time to participate in the CFO JOY WALK!!! a celebration of CFO’s 90th anniversary! Check out all the details here. Also, be sure to check out the CFO Family and CFO International Facebook pages where CFO’ers from around the world are posting all the creative ways they are engaging with the CFO JOY WALK!!!

Let’s talk about joy for a minute. Joy embodies so many things. It’s so much more than happiness. Joy is about fulfillment of purpose, responding to God’s call, finding and using the gifts that God has blessed us with. Joy comes when we recognize and live the abundant life that Christ promised. Joy is not dependent on life being easy or circumstances going well… thus we can have ‘tears of joy’.

A Joy Walk is a wonderful opportunity to take the CFO Daily Program and way of life into one’s everyday flow. As we walk we can meditate, sing, listen to the Holy Spirit, move our bodies, welcome inspiration from and co-create with God, and of course… pray! One of the goals of the CFO Daily Program is to help one “fall into balance physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually” that we may better tune into the voice of the Creator.

There’s no wrong way to do a Joy Walk, but if you need a focus, we humbly offer this small pamphlet entitled Silence, Simplicity, Sequence. This is a collection of quotes from Glenn Clark, founder of The Camps Farthest Out, focusing on the spiritual core of this Kingdom of God movement called CFO. CFO International invites you to take these quotes on a Joy Walk or into a morning meditation, or use them for an evening devotion. Read them and focus on the love and peace of Christ as we join our hearts and minds together in prayer from wherever we happen to be. Click on the link… feel free to print… fold ’em up… take ’em along… however the Holy Spirit moves you!

We hope your Joy Walks are bringing you blessings of peace, love, joy, harmony, unity, and creativity as you marvel in and at God’s creation alone and/or with others (in a distanced, safe way of course)!

Full of joyous spirit! Sing we,
While to the Father bring we,
All that we have; All that we are! – Joel Hayden
