Our next Refresher Call is coming February 25th. Here’s a message from Tanya Cothran, who will lead the call:
Rhythms, or Devotion in Motion, as it is called around the world, is one the parts of camp that most sticks with me in the “in-between” months when I’m not lucky enough to be at camp. A stressful day may call for a “let go and let God,” a stiff back may prompt a 10-lb head drop, and joyful news may inspire “walking and leaping and praising God.”
During camp, Rhythms is not only a time to move our bodies, it’s also a time to practice (as athletes of the Spirit) using our bodies as a conduit of prayer. It’s to incorporate prayer, not just in our minds and voices, but also into our whole bodies.
This month, as part of our CFOI Refresher calls, we invite you to practice this living prayer with us on Monday, February 25!
I’ll lead a group conference call (see below for calling information) where we’ll both have a chance to talk about moving our bodies in prayer and put it into action with a few simple Rhythms (modified for the setting, of course!). We’ll have time for questions and sharing of favorite Rhythms or general comments about this devotion in motion.
You don’t have to be a Rhythms leader to join us, in fact, everyone – people of all ages and experience with CFO – are invited to share in the call.
It’s my hope that this will be a time of renewal, remembering the joy of movement, and going a bit further out with our God. I hope to talk to you soon!
All you have to do is dial this phone number: (712) 432-0075 and when the voice asks you for your access code, dial 699622#. The call will start at 5 p.m. PST and 8 p.m. EST. Please join in, and invite all your camp friends to dial in too.
