President’s Letter – June 2011

June 2011

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your generosity in response to my last letter.  Your CFOI Board of Trustees has just finished meeting in Tennessee, and we are grateful for good fellowship, wonderful prayer times and business well attended.  Many ideas are being exchanged and developed for training, resource building and continued reaching out to the world with God’s peace and Kingdom vision.

We are particularly blessed by a generous contribution from Walt Clark’s estate.  Walt had tremendous vision for the work of CFOI, and spent the last years of his life working to raise monetary support to further Camps Farthest Out International.  He died in November 2010, and is sorely missed.  At this meeting, we received a legacy gift of $10,000.  This money will assist us to fund some of the exciting developments in our Regions.  For example, it will help our two new Regional Vice Presidents, in South Pacific and East Asia, to foster new prayer groups and extend CFO into countries like China, Indonesia, Singapore and Samoa.  How exciting is that?

As you may know, Training of Trainers is a program that has been planned for years.  Now the program will be launched at our 10th International Camp in August 2012.  Our dream is to bring together 24 of the world’s best CFO trainers (three from each of our eight Regions) to practice and refine their skills.  These trainers will then return to work in their Regions to develop a network of qualified trainers who can train others –  enriching and increasing camps all over the world.  CFOI received a challenge gift of $7,500 in this fund, with a goal to double that money.  We need to raise another $15,000 to bring the trainers together for this meeting.  Is this a dream that you share?

In July 2011 I will be traveling to Peru to meet with the Organizing Committee, visit the site of the 10th International Camp and conduct training with Council Rings in preparation for their hosting of the International Camp.  I am very excited about this trip, and I invite you to pray for me and for all the plans.

Can you help?  Do you share our vision for Training of Trainers?  Your gifts are most welcome.  God’s resources are not limited, and His will is being done.  We invite you to participate in whatever way He calls you, with a one-time gift or a monthly gift.  Thank you for your partnership in this exciting work.

Yours in Christ,

Sue Fairley, CFOI President
